Networking and Gaining Insights from Designers Inspiration Trip to Europe
The awarded products of the 8th Hong Kong Smart Design Awards (HKSDA) were showcased at Ambiente 2020 again in Frankfurt. Our delegation, 19 awarded designers of HKSDA 2019, were sponsored for an 8-day Inspiration Trip to Germany and the Netherlands on 1-10 February 2020.
Designers often seek inspirations in everyday life in order to add sparkles to their designs. Hong Kong Smart Design Awards (HKSDA) offers winning designers a chance to get inspirations from visiting well-known overseas design studios, design academies and exhibitions.
The delegation visited Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair and Ambiente Consumer Goods Fair, renowned Droog Design Studio and Moooi Design Studio, historical building, museums and attended networking events. Through the trip, they connected with top global designers and business organisations to expand into overseas markets, exchanged business perspectives, seen good design practices and learnt innovative ideas from visits.
