Mr. Kelvin Mui


BSc(Arch.), AIA associate

Mr. Mui Yiu Cheung, Kelvin, the founding director of axiom design partnership ltd., He holds degree of Science in Architecture, and high diploma of Business Administration, with over 30 years’ experience in architectural and interior design industry.


He is also the Associate member of The American Institute of Architects ( AIA ), and professional member of  The Hong Kong Interior Design Association.


Mr. Mui joined Conran Design Pacific, Asia Pacific Regional office of Conran Design Group from UK, as senior designer and had been promoted to Associate. Within the time in Conran, he had been in-charged of various type of projects such as:

  • Hotel renovation for Sheraton Hotel in Hong Kong;
  • Retail project for Duty Free Shoppers, Sincere Department Store, 7-11 chain store concept, Habitat store HK, Café De Coral, Just Gold and so on.
  • Office project for Herbert Smith, Fresh field, HP, Lloyds Bank, etc.


After that Mr. Mui joined a multi-discipline consultant, The Oval Partnership Ltd. as Associate Director and been appointed as director of the sister company, axiom oval partnership ltd.


Throughout the period, Mr. Mui was in charge various types of project from master planning, architectural project, project management, interior design, and the project location covered Hong Kong, Main Land China as well as Europe, which included :


  • 52 Plantation Road, The Peak, for 500 million prestige property development;
  • 4 Perkins Road, private development;
  • 30,000m2 mix Commercial development in Xian;
  • Project manager for 100,000m2 underground shopping mall in ZhuHai;
  • Retail identity development for various types of brand, such as I.T., Simmons Bedding, Kaloo, Bossini, Nesspresso, Chow Sang Sang, Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Emperor Jewllery etc.
  • Information Centre for Hong Kong Monetary Authority


Part of those projects, Information Centre for Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Emperor Jewllery, Just Gold etc., have received Silver Award and Honorable Mentioned Award from International Design Award ( IDA ), LA., USA, as well as Successful Design Award in Shanghai.


In addition to professional practice, Mr. Mui activity involved with the social services of following organization/ projects, and also is Rotarian of The Rotary Club of Hong Kong, and as the Director of Services Project :


  • Was the student mentor of IVE, Baptist University and City University,
  • Was partner of AIESEC, an International youth professional organization over 800 universities in 90 countries
  • Was the lead architect (volunteer) for a Fisherman heritage community project for Salvation Army in Sam Mun Tsui fishermen village, Tai Po;
  • Was the business advisor for Junior Achievement Project.


Mr. Mui ‘s design philosophy


Design is not just an aesthetic exercise, it forms part of our life style, and convey our daily experience.


Design is a process of generating idea via research and analysis, there and then, designer shall be able to balance the technical and aesthetic challenge in order to fulfill the functional and emotion benefit, whether it is for a private house, retail space, or corporate office etc.
